Laura Canter, MPsych, Ed.D. is a Registered Psychologist (Australia, 2005) who specializes in Performance Psychology in business, sport, and life. Aside from traditional Cognitive-Behavioral techniques, Laura also uses the principles of Positive Psychology in her work to improve on successful outcomes for her clients. Laura works with professional and elite amateur athletes, C-suite business executives, professional and elite performing artists. As well as being a Performance Psychologist, Laura has over 15 years experience working with professional and elite amateur athletes as an Exercise Physiologist & Athletic Development Trainer in the USA. Switching her focus to concentrate on the mental aspects of performance, she has taken the lessons from sport and applied those techniques to parallel situations in business and life.
Laura is a sought after guest lecturer and speaker. She has several years experience as a university adjunct professor in psychology and human movement courses. Though she has returned to her native USA to practice Positive Performance Consulting in business, life and sport, she still maintains her connections internationally and offers worldwide services to individuals, teams and organizations.
Laura co-created and developed the Physical Activity Based Happiness Enhancement Program. This program utilizes a combination of classroom education and an ongoing running/walking meditation activity to help people with mild to moderate depression. This workshop includes lectures, practical group and individual exercises, and multi-media with knowledge in the areas of positive psychology, lessons from ancient wisdom’s, meditative traditions, and the science of happiness. This program has led Laura to create a myriad of other programs using similar techniques to improve performance at the elite business and sporting level.
