Dr. Laura Canter, MPsych, Ed.D. is a Positive Performance Consultant who helps leaders, teams, and organizations unlock mental toughness, resilience, and peak performance by leveraging their strengths rather than trying to fix perceived weaknesses. With over 20 years of executive and leadership coaching experience, Laura uses the science of positive psychology to remove performance barriers, enhance self-awareness, and drive sustainable success.
Laura has worked with senior executives, global organizations, elite athletes, and individuals around the world. She designs and facilitates custom team-building workshops, leadership development programs, organizational development initiatives, and motivational experiences that improve productivity, engagement, and well-being—especially in high-pressure environments.
Laura’s career began in Exercise Science, Physical Therapy Assisting, and Athletic Training, where she worked with professional sports organizations including USA Rugby and the NFL. While supporting athletes through injury recovery, she recognized that mental and emotional factors were often the key determinants of performance and resilience. This insight led her to pursue advanced training in Sport and Exercise Psychology in Queensland, Australia, integrating physical performance with psychological strength.
Having lived on three continents and worked across diverse cultural contexts, Laura brings a global perspective to her work. In 2019, she deepened her focus on Cultural Intelligence (CQ), recognizing that the ability to function effectively across national, organizational, generational, and interpersonal differences is essential for today’s leaders.
In addition to her consulting and coaching practice, Laura serves as an adjunct professor and guest lecturer in psychology and organizational leadership. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, reformer Pilates, playing golf—and firmly believes that a classic margherita pizza is always the right choice.
